Treehopper Mama & Babies 8"x10" Print
When you think of animals that provide maternal care to their young, insects may not immediately come to mind. Some members of the Membracidae family actually do provide ongoing care for their maturing young, offering protection and... maybe a little more. Affection, perhaps? Here is a mother Oak Treehopper (Platycotis vittata) and her young offspring. She is watching over them until they mature and their wings have fully developed, enabling them an easier escape from would-be predators.
The standard 8"x10" size is easily matted into an 11"x14" mat and frame. A great size for any room! (Frame is not included, shown for demonstration/inspiration purposes only.)
The print will come to you in a protective plastic sleeve with a hard backing.
