Cicada Killer B&W 8"x10" Print
Scientific illustration of a female Eastern Cicada Killer wasp (Sphecius speciosus). Print created from my original graphite drawing and printed on fine art paper. Don't worry, I found my specimen deceased; no wasps were harmed in the making of this drawing!
Quite large in size, these giant wasps capture and paralyze cicadas to leave in an underground chamber for their growing young to consume. They sppear intimidating but they are incredibly docile wasps. They are solitary, so no queen/workers or giant nest of brood to protect. If you see one, you can sit and watch it and they certainly won't come after you or harm you. A great insect to have in your garden.
The standard 8"x10" size is easily matted into an 11"x14" mat and frame. A great size for any room! (Frame is not included, shown for demonstration/inspiration purposes only.)
The print will come to you in a protective plastic sleeve with a hard backing.
-Watermarks are not printed on the actual prints. They are for protection purposes for my website only.
